Is protein the miracle macronutrient? What are the current guidelines? How much protein should I have at each meal? I hope this video will help you.
The RDA for protein is .8-1.2 grams per kilogram for people under 65. Suppose you are over 65 or at risk of losing muscle mass (including those taking GLP1 or GLP/GIP medications). The RDA increases up to 1.6 grams per kilogram.
This translates to 20-30 grams of protein per meal or 60-90 g protein per day.
