Sunday Coffee: Introducing 5 Health Measures You Shouldn't Panic If Elevated
Join me for this casual conversation about interpreting health measures that don't mean anything for people with prediabetes or diabetes.
Welcome to this issue of Sunday Coffee. If you are new here, the Sunday Coffee program is a relaxed 10-15 video series released 1-2 times a month for paid subscribers. It dives deeper into common thoughts and concerns for people who are moving away from dieting.
In this issue, I would like to discuss five health measures you should not panic about.
Blood pressure. Don’t panic if you have ONE elevated blood pressure reading. This is especially true if the blood pressure cuff doesn’t fit properly. A single blood pressure reading can be off for many reasons.
Weight. Your weight isn’t something to panic about because it doesn’t tell you anything about your health, and this is especially true in isolation.
BMI doesn’t tell you anything about your health.
BRI doesn’t tell you anything, and here is a great resource that goes even deeper into why.
Singular blood glucose reading can get you curious but it shouldn’t cause a panic. You might like this article if you need more help figuring out numbers.
As a paid subscriber, you have the privilege of accessing both the Sweet Bodies: Body Image program and the Nutrition 101 Program. This 5-part video series and 25-page Weight-Inclusive Guidebook are exclusive to you, providing you with the knowledge and tools to nourish your body without dieting.
