Sunday Coffee - Choices
It is time to be okay with all the squishy, sticky reasons why you eat, and gently explore how the Oprah conversation may stir up some uncomfortable feelings for people with diabetes.
Welcome to Sunday Coffee.
It is time to talk about choices, not just the choices that you ‘should’ make. The Sunday Coffee series is for paid subscribers. Today, I am discussing choices and digging deeper into the Nutrition 101 program, part of your paid subscription. This program includes a 24-page ebook and 5 videos that explore the many decisions surrounding choice, macronutrients, micronutrients, gut health, and self-care without dieting. (No, no, no… this is a weight-inclusive space.)
I am also talking about the squishy, sticky reasons why the Oprah conversation may stir up some uncomfortable feelings for people with diabetes. It is okay if you don’t know (or care about) Oprah. Her credibility slipped over 15 years ago, but she commands a lot of attention, and it is important to see that internalized weight stigma is part of diabetes stigma.
I have linked you to weight-inclusive resources from fat advocates to help you go beyond the headlines and explore the Oprah conversation in a meaningful way.
If you are looking to work with a weight-inclusive dietitian, I see clients virtually via Nourish
