Micronutrients

Micronutrients are tiny, hence the prefix “micro”. Your diet has many micronutrients, which can be understood by grouping them into four categories.

  • Water

  • Fiber

  • Vitamins

  • Minerals

When your diet lacks micronutrients, you might struggle to move your bowels. You may also have an irregular heartbeat, become moody, or develop nutrient deficiencies like Beriberi, Rickets, or Osteoporosis. Micronutrients help the body function and prevent disease. This is the third part of a five-part series called Nutrition 101, which is how I teach clients about nutrition; no weight loss required.
